Child protection training requirements apply across the sector, including specific legislative obligations in New South Wales as well as broader national frameworks.

Successful completion of this unit requires participants to meet all assessment requirements in accordance with the unit of competency.

Entry Requirements
No formal prerequisites, but we recommend strong communication skills and a nurturing approach. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required before enrolment.
Work Placement
To achieve this qualification, individuals must complete a minimum of 160 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia, as specified in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
The total number of hours can be accumulated collectively across all units that include a workplace hours requirement.

Structure
Approx. 40 hours total (blended delivery):
- 12 hours self-paced pre-course reading
- 5 hours face-to-face/synchronous session
- 10 hours assessment (knowledge, project, and practical tasks)

- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth to Five Years)
Australian Montessori College does not offer post-graduate courses at the present time. However there are many reputable universities that may offer a Bachelor or Masters degree.
